November 2018 my partner and I spent four nights on the swamp with Chip as our guide. It was an absolutely magical experience camping on the platforms by night and gliding through the still, dark waters by day spotting birds, gators, otter, raccoons and marveling at the ever-changing vegetation. It was an experience that will stay with us forever and we hope to return someday and do it all again!

The best!! The boat tour of the swamp was informative and beautiful. Gordon Saager was full of lots of info. He was able to answer any questions my kids could dream up!😊

We did the boat tour and found the scenery quite beautiful. Our tour guide, Chris, was very informative. The only downside is that since it was very hot there wasn't much wildlife to see. We'll do this again in cooler weather. Don't miss the Chesser Homestead and the boardwalk trail to the observation tower.

The boat trip was very enjoyable as I got to see a large number of alligators relatively close up and a wide variety of swamp birds. They're is also a relaxing trail for a driving tour of the island that also features close encounters with some of the wildlife. Note there is no phone reception which if you are interested in enjoying yourself that might be for the best anyway.

Love this boat ride through the swamp. Very impressed with tour guides knowledge of the area and the ride was very peaceful and saw as lot of wildlife including alligators, red winged blackbirds and turtles. Highly recommend this trip for any age.
